BRAZIL CONSOLIDATES ITSLEF AS THE 3RD LARGEST LATIN AMERICAN INVESTOR IN SPAIN

The importance of the Spanish economy for Latin American capital continues to grow. Spain is now the second global destination for Latin American capital, only behind the United States, with an increase of more than 20 billion euros in investments in the last decade.

This year, Latin America’s Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) reached its highest volume since 2014, recording $47.743 billion in 2023. Spain captured 2.835 billion euros of this investment, a growth of 138%, consolidating itself as the second global destination and the first in Europe.

The “Global LATAM 2024” report highlights that Brazil is the 3rd largest Latin American investor in Spain, with 6.904 billion euros (10.3%). A total of 20 countries in the region have investments in Spain, with more than 600 companies and 47,000 direct jobs generated.
